Biography: I am a Ph.D. Candidate and Graduate Student Researcher in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCLA in the Networked and Embedded Systems Lab, advised by Professor Mani B. Srivastava. I create deployable, learning-enabled, and resource-constrained sensing systems. My research interests include tiny machine learning (TinyML), inertial sensing, applied machine learning, embedded system design, wearable/ubiquitous computing, small satellites, and human-computer interaction. When I am not working, you will find me making music, jamming with my band, cooking, eating out, sightseeing, and speeding down the California freeways.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Dhaka, 2019.
  • Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California - Los Angeles, 2021.
    Thesis: Robust and Efficient Neural Inertial Localization and Complex Activity Recognition
    (done at NESL)

Experience:

  • STMicroelectronics (Summer 2022) - Sensors Software Solution Intern. Will be joining STMicroelectronics as summer intern.

  • Maple Leaf International School (Feb '19 to Aug '19) - Physics Laboratory and Robotics Instructor. Established the first robotics laboratory and robotics course in the school.

  • Suyog Technologies (Dec '18 to Jun '19) - Intern, Embedded Engineer. Implemented embedded exercise activity and sleep monitoring frameworks using inertial sensors (published in IEEE WIECON-ECE).

  • Fab Lab DU (Jul '18 to Dec '18) - Operator and Research Assistant. Created the DU Mobility Dataset using handcrafted wearable sensors for AI-driven gait and locomotion analysis (published in UbiComp workshops, IEEE Access and ICIEV); Designed homebrew ground station and embedded cybersecurity analysis platform for small satellites (published in IEEE AESS Mag.); Planned and supervised training sessions, seminars, industrial tours and projects relevant to fab lab themes.
